The entrances to Tilly Whim Caves

This photo which dates to the early 1900s shows the entrance to Tilly Whim Caves in Durlston Country Park near Swanage.

Above the main cave entrance is an inscription on the stone wall saying:

THE CLOUD CAP’D TOWERS
THE GORGEOUS PALACES
THE SOLEMN IMPALES
THE GREAT GLOBE ITSELF
YEA ALL WHICH IT INHEART
SHALL DISSOLVE
AND LIKE THE BASELESS
FABRIC OF A VISION
LEAVE NOT A RACK BEHIND

Above the cave entrance is Durlston Castle in the distance.
