Swanage Cottage Hospital
Swanage hospital in the early 1900s.
The hospital was built in 1895 at Mount Scar, replacing an earlier cottage hospital previously located in the High Street and was built by the four surviving children of George and Elizabeth Burt as a memorial to their parents and it remained a cottage hospital until the formation of the NHS in 1948 and it then became a NHS hospital.
