Busses at the old bus yard in Swanage
This photo from the 1980s shows three Hants & Dorset buses parked on the old bus parking area which is now the Coop car park.
The bus in the foreground, number 142 which ran from Swanage to Poole and is a double decker bus registration BFX664T which was purchased in April 1983.
In the background next to the railway shed is another number 142 for the Poole and Swanage route and a single decker number 152 which ran from Swanage to Bournemouth.
To the left of the photo is the old car park which was on a lower level than the bus parking area.
The tarmac in this area was always covered in oil and spilt fuel which made it very dangerous and slippery when wet.
