Sand and Stones on the road from Storm Ciaran
Sand and Stones on the road from Storm Ciaran
Very strong winds and high waves overnight on the 1st of November from named storm, Storm Ciaran pushed temporary storm defence concrete blocks away from their placement and across the pavements allowing the sea and sand to cover the lower High Street.
The failed sea defences caused a lot of sand and stones to be washed onto the road and across pavements.
The blocks where installed in late October to stop the sea from breaching and flooding.
The blocks had already been moved back into place using a crane by 10am the following morning.
